Lodgis just released its quarterly barometer on furnished properties’ rents in Paris and the trend is toward stability: prices in the capital slightly increased of 0.5% compared to those of last year’s first quarter.
Indeed, even if the rents are dropping of -0,2% in central arrondissements of Paris, those away from the center (9th to 20th) experience a rise of 2%.
In this way, the relative global stability of the Parisian furnished rental market follows the general price inflation.
It is important to note that, still according to the barometer, business travelers are still as numerous to choose furnished rentals to settle in Paris during their stay in Paris: they represent more than half (52%) of furnished rentals tenants.
The portion of the furnished rentals bookings for personal reasons (divorce, work in the main residence, supporting ill relatives or returning from expatriation) is increasing by 2 points this quarter to reach 15%.
Finally, French people (35,6%) and Europeans (31,1%) are still first in the ranking of furnished rentals’ tenants. The portion of French people grew by 5 points compared to the first quarter of 2016. On the other hand, tenants coming from foreign countries see their share diminishing slightly: -2 points for Asia and -1 point for America.
