Lodgis, real estate agency specialized in furnished rentals in Paris, just released its quarterly barometer and the tendency is toward stability: the price of the Capital have slightly increased by 0.7% compared to the same period last year, thus following the 0.8% price inflation.
Faced with the decreasing rents of the whole Parisian rental market of -1.1% announced by the Observatoire Clameur, the furnished rental market is doing well, especially in the areas away from the center (from the 9th to the 20th) which are experiencing a rise of 1.5%. As for the rents of the furnished rentals located in the center of Paris; they remained the same.
French people (33%, decreasing by 2 points) and Europeans (27%, on the rise by 3 points) keep their top-ranking position as tenants of furnished rentals in Paris. Interesting fact this quarter: American tenants are back in the Capital. Indeed, their share increases by 3 points representing the return of American tourists, which visits are on the rise in 2017 by +24,7% like in 2014.
Finally, still according to Lodgis’ barometer, furnished rentals still attract business travelers in Paris: they represent more than the half (51%) of the furnished rentals tenants.
The share of bookings for furnished rentals made by students (25%) or for personal grounds (24%- break-ups, renovations in the main residence, visiting a hospitalized relative or returning from expatriation) are on the rise by 2 points this quarter.
